My name is Bedirhan Cinar and Nerdmatic is my website.
Nerdmatic was created on Halloween 2003, providing an umbrella for www.bedirhansolo.com, my outdated portfolio site, and www.kidmilo.com, the site I used to post my photos on but have since turned into my best attempt at irony. Nerdmatic is now the star of the show.
I was born in Istanbul, Turkey, providing years of entertainment and drama for my parents. We moved to Chicago when I was five, which is why I speak Turkish with an American accent and not the other way around. I moved to New York City the summer of 2000, which is why I haven’t driven anything but a Go-Kart in the last few years.
I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Industrial Design (product design) and have paid rent as an Application Systems Engineer, Toy Maker, Product Designer, Toy Designer, Web Designer, and Teacher. Currently, I’m the Design Director of Roda Magazine (www.rodamagazine.com) and teach design and illustration in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
I have been playing capoeira since August of 2003 and training Muay Thai and Kali since June of 2008. I am not very good at any of them yet, but am getting there.
I temporarily live with a bird, a panda, and a fish in Brooklyn.
